New Sevendust: Cold Day Memory Released Today

by Jay Stueve on April 20, 2010

I usually don’t get too excited about new CD’s coming out…

I’ve been a 7Dust fan since their first album. There has always been something that sets this band apart from the all the others. For me it’s their down to earth attitudes combined with the music. The music is the most melodic, yet heavy stuff you will find. I’ve always been a fan of heavy music. I’ve also always been a fan of melody and songs with “hooks”. Well… this band is king of that.

Clint Lowery is back in the band!

One of Sevendust’s guitar players left the band some five years ago to pursue some other things. The albums without Clint for me were still good. But, it was just not the same. His influence on the writing is huge and the band, although solid, was just missing Clint. This record is the first with Clint back in the band and contributing heavily to the songwriting and it shows in the music.

This is the best 7Dust since Animosity…

I purchased the pre-order version of the new CD online. This included a “Making of the Record” DVD and an autographed CD insert. I received it in the mail yesterday and I’ve watched the DVD twice and been listening to the new music non stop. It’s as good as 7Dust gets. By that I’m saying it’s absolutely amazing. If you appreciate good music and you don’t like this CD… you’re an idiot.

Do yourself a favor and get this CD…

Don’t steal it either. These guys have to eat and feed their families too. If you end up liking this but think it’s too heavy… check out Clint’s solo project… Hello Demon’s Meet Skeletons… It’s like old Alice in Chains acoustic but better and it’s less than $6.
